Christmas Morning Layout

This layout is created for Die Cuttin Divas: Challenge #179: Pinterest Inspired or Inspired by another Crafter.  I LOVE PINTEREST!  So I saw this challenge and said I have to do it.  So what's Pinterest about this?  I pin millions of sketches that I find on Pinterest.  Here's my pin/sketch that I followed:

1 photo layout
I had the flourish on the right but I felt it was making the layout off-balanced so I moved it to the left.  Also, I was going to add in a color combination that I would of followed (another thing I love pinning) but I decided to see where this sketch took me.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Thanks!

I want to thank {capture the moment} for teaching me this new technique; Make It Monday #176 Backgrounds with Embossing Paste.  I had every intention of entering this card into their challenge but I needed to have one papertrey item....and that...I didn't have.  Oh well, next time.  :)  Because I didn't have Papertrey's re-inkers, I substituted with Distress Ink Re-inkers.  Just FYI if you try this technique: start off with ONE drop.  Don't be like me and my first attempt at this technique, I used like 3 or 4 drops!  Colors came out super strong.  But overall, I love this technique!  And especially with all the new stencils coming out = AWESOMENESS!  So much fun!

I've also been playing around with the No Lines Copic Coloring technique.  And I can finally say, that one summer of Jane Chow Art Classes finally paid off...20 years later.  LOL!  Bless my mom's heart for always letting me take something artsy or crafting-specific during my childhood summer years.  I hope I'll be as good as she is.

But getting back to this No Lines Technique...ok...this is my fourth attempt doing this technique.  My first two tries no one will ever see because I've tossed them.  Yes, tossed that's how horrible it turned out.  LOL!  This takes so much time and practice but the end result comes out great!  I have one more layout with the no-lines I'll be posting later.

Copic Colors Used:
Skin Tone: E00, E21, and E50
Hair: T2, T5, and T8
Clothing:
   Pinks: RV10, RV11, and 0
   Purples: B60 and B63
   Blues: B00 and B01

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day!

I {heart} You

I've been wanting to use this paper for a while, finally happy I put it to use!

This layout is for Die Cuttin Divas: Challenge #178: Favorite Color Combination.  This is my little bug, when this photo was taken she was less than a year old...today she's a proud Ms. Independent three-year old.  So crazy how time flies.  She loves pink, so I chose colors like pink for our color combination.

Arigatou (Thank You) Card

I....seriously.....LOVE MY CRICUT EXPLORE!?!  Thank you wonderful hubby for my upgrade!?!  I love the simple fact I can cut my fonts AND I love that the cuts are so PRECISE!!!

I created this card for the Fatabulous Cricut Challenge - Challenge #223 Sketch Challenge.  I made a slight adjustment to the challenge, I rotated the sketch, teehee. =P

Here's the sketch:
Card Recipe
Plant-s - Pagoda Cricut Cartridge (I only used the shadow of the plant)
Arigatou (written in Hiragana) - one of my fonts, cut by the Cricut Explore

CHECKOUT the detail of the Cricut Explore and of Shin-Shin!!!

Look how thin this cut is!  If I did this on my Expression...ugh...I dread the thought.

Pixar Cars Layout

OMG...I forgot how much detail goes into Disney's Cricut Cartridges!  This final layout was my third design.  I say design because I had cut Mater over six or seven times, threw away one mat and ordering two more mats because of this layout!

My advice for this cartridge: If you're going to cut theses images, make sure that they are over 6".  Just FYI, even at 6", I struggled with Mater's mirrors and tow hitch, so maybe 7" will be safe?  Oh! And time, to assemble these images was crazy too!  But they come out great!

Height Measurements for cuts:
Mater: 6"
Lightning McQueen: 3.5"
Piston Cup: 2.12"
Trophy Flags: 1.9"
Title (Disney's Mickey Font Cartridge): 1"
