Nana's 91st Birthday

On April 4, 2010 at 3 A.M. in the morning, my husband and I woke up to a phone call. It's one of those phone calls you never want to receive. My nana passed away at the young age of 92. I remember all that week, I had the hardest time studying or concentrate on any of my lessons. We spent hours and hours at the hospital. I remember staying the night with her on the first night she was there. She was so scared. I can still hear her voice telling me to "close the curtain, the light is shining through the window", even though we were in the hospital. I remember cheering her on when she would eat 50% of her breakfast, lunch, or dinner. In fact praising her for eating so much when it really was so little. She had taught me so much while growing up. I think about her everyday, remembering all the good memories I have of her. I can't wait until I can tell my daughter about her great grandma.

I found this page at the bottom of my cardstock pile and thought I would share a little piece of my nana with you. :) I have no idea if I posted this page before, if I did...sorry for the repeat.

Boys Day

Do you know how IMPOSSIBLE it is to find a Boy's Day Scrapbooking Layout?!? OMG, I was searching for weeks just to find an idea. I was searching everything, boy's day, children's day, asian, japanese, chinese, koi, carp (sometimes accidentally searched crap LOL), kimono...you name it, I tried to google it. On top of that...I had to go ahead and make my life more annoying by adding my mizuhiki. Grr to myself! LOL. But, in the end I was finally satisfied with this.

Details:
The mizuhiki knot is called "kame musubi" meaning turtle knot. In Japan, the turtle symbolizes a long life.
Kikyou Punch - Size: Very small
"Boys Day" - Street Sign Cricut Cartridge. Welded together with Cricut Design Studio
"2011" - Street Sign Cricut Cartridge. Welded together with Cricut Design Studio
RSP Asian Coin Stamp
Queen's Gold Embossing Powder
Washi Paper
Bazzill Cardstock: Navy, Lava, and I don't know the name of the light blue

Hope this helps anyone who's looking for a boy's day idea or a mizuhiki idea or just enlighten you in anyway. :) Have a great day and thanks for looking! :D

4 Month Footprints

My daughter made four fabulous months on the 17th and I've been wanting to do her footprints but always forgot or wanted to do it but she had already taken a bath. Well, I finally remembered! Not too bad for a first time. I'm sure I'll get better. I'm hoping to do this at least once a month.

The three words underneath is: Drooling, Teething, and Holding. She's starting to teeth (hence, the word "teething"), A bib is permanently attached to her (except for when she sleeps) because of her drooling, and "holding" because she is learning to use her hands and LOVES holding things.

I found a new blog and this blog inspired me to make this layout. I hope it will inspire you too. Click HERE to check it out.

That's all I got for today. Have a great day! Hope to see you soon!

Hoppy Easter

I've made this page for the baby-sitter kids. They usually exchange $5 gifts for holidays and about $10-$15 for kids birthdays. I thought to myself, why buy candy or other things that most parent will eat or throw away, why don't I just make them a page where they can preserve their memory. :) It's been fun making all these pages! I'm using my Cricut more than ever! And LOVING EVERY MOMENT!

Here's the details:
Bunny from Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge - 7"
Large Eggs (pink, yellow and blue) from Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridge - 6 1/2"
Small Egg (purple) from Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridge - 5 1/2"
"Hoppy Easter" from Sesame Street Font Cricut Cartridge - 1 1/2"
"2011" from Sesame Street Font Cricut Cartrdige - 3/4"
Grass from Paperdoll Dress Up Cricut Cartridge - 1 3/4"

Thanks for checking me out again! Have a wonderful day!
